Obituary of Kevin Joseph Ranger

Surrounded by his family, the death of Kevin Joseph Ranger of Quispamsis, husband of Janet (MacMillan) Ranger, occurred on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

 

Born in Pembrook, ON, on January 30, 1943, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marie (Dwyer) Ranger. Kevin joined the Navy in Ottawa serving from 1962- 1996. He then retired in Halifax as PO 1st Class. Following his service, Kevin became a Commissionaire where he continued to serve for the next twenty-two years. Kevin was also an avid member of his beloved Royal Canadian Legion Branch #58.

 

Besides his wife, Kevin is survived by his children; Jason Ranger and Jyl Ranger of Quispamsis, his brother Clifford Ranger (Colleen) of Ontario, sisters; Joanie Brophy (Pat) of Ontario, and Judy Rutledge of Ontario, grandchildren; Jonah Floritto, Kevin Ranger, John Ranger, and Raymond Francis, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

 

Kevin was predeceased by his brother in law, Winston Rutledge.

 

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Thursday, July 25, 2019  from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.  A Royal Canadian Legion Service, tribute to a Veteran,  will be held at  7PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, on Friday, July 26, 2019, at 11AM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital- Palliative Care Unit or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
