Obituary of Jeanie Kathleen Saunders

 

The death of Jeanie Kathleen Saunders, formerly of Rothesay, occurred on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Kennebec Manor.

 

Born on June 29, 1955 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Doyle) Saunders. Jeanie was employed as a purchasing agent at Marque for many years and as the Executive Assistant for her local MLA. She volunteered for the Seniors VON Program, and was a Past Vice President and Secretary for the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Branch #58. Jeanie was also Past President of the Fairvale Outing Association, and an Honourary member of the PC Party.

 

Jeanie is survived by her sister; Marylou Wiggins (Robert) of Apohaqui, NB, sisters-in-laws; Eileen Saunders of Apohaqui, and Joan Saunders of Rothesay, as well as several nieces, nephews, and her best friend, Sandra Gould.

 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers; Melvin, Charles (Tina), and Garey.

 

Jeanie's family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers of Kennebec Manor for their kindness and care given to Jeanie over the past several years.

 

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 4-8 PM. A celebration of Jeanie's life will take place at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Titus Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the NB Lung Association, the Arthritis Society, or Kennebec Manor Nursing Home.
