Obituary of Sharon Hughes

It is with great sadness the family of Annette  Sharon (Singer) Hughes, announce her passing on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Kings Way Care Centre, Quispamsis, with her family by her side. Born on June 26, 1951, in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late Shirley Singer and Audrey (McCall) Taylor.

Sharon was employed at the Bank of Montreal for several years until her retirement in 2015. Sharon adored her girls, Natasha and Elizabeth. Sharon was involved with her girls’ schools and was well known and loved for the cakes she baked for their classes. She was a Brownie and Girl Guide Leader for several years, she loved to read, knit, and sew. She loved being a grandmother and would look forward to every visit with the boys. Her family was her whole world, she loved watching them grow, and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Survived by her loving husband Gary of Quispamsis, daughters; Elizabeth (Cody Fullerton) of Rothesay, and Natasha Lestringant (Franck) of Hopewell Junction, NY, brother; Eldon Singer (Ella) of ON,  half sisters; Carla Murray (James) of AB, Debbie King (Patrick), Dolly King, both of ON, and half brothers;  Douglas Singer (Pearl) of BC, Al Singer (Donna) of BC, Kevin Singer of SK, Rick King (Debbie) of ON, grandsons; Gabriel and Oliver Lestringant, sister-in-law Harriet McCulloch, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her step-mother Edna Singer.

A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Interment to take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery, Fredericton, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
