Anna Fry

Obituary of Anna Fry

Anna Olive Fry, age 96, passed gently away in Quispamsis on September 10, 2021. The daughter of Paul and Mary Lawrence of Upper Falmouth, NS, she was raised on a dairy farm in the beautiful Annapolis Valley.

Anna was the wife of the late Medford Fry and much loved mother of Gillian (Brian Rogers) of Halifax and Jane (Steve Whitters) of Rothesay:  Proud Grandma of Claire (Patrick Lea), Paddy, Kate (Clarke Murdock), Gwen (Mike Lowe) and great grandmother to William Lea. She is survived by her sister, Joan Schofield and sister-in-law Joan Lawrence. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Med, son Grant, parents, and siblings, Francis, Helen Kelley, Mary Smith, and John.

Our Mum lived her life with dignity, grace and enormous resilience – tempered with a liberal sprinkling of witty remarks and one liners. She found great joy in a well executed hand of bridge, laughed on the floor with her grandchildren, whooped us all in Trivial Pursuit and treasured both old and new friendships.  Her paintings of local Maritime scenes hang on walls across the country.  Mum and her soulmate, Med, forged an equitable and loving marriage and our memories are filled with their shared laughter.

The family is grateful to Kim Davis, Patti and staff at Concorde Hall for their care of “RB”.

Donations in remembrance can be made to Kirkhill Cemetery in Sussex, your local animal shelter or a charity of your choice.
