Obituary of Ian Roderick MacLean

It is with great sadness the family of Ian Roderick MacLean, loving husband of Glenda (Cook), announce his passing on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at his residence. Born in Sherbrooke, QC on January 12, 1948 he was a son of the late Roderick and Eva (Beane) MacLean. Ian had an entrepreneurial spirit getting his start working in several ventures with his Dad and then moving on to start D.I.D., Crown Truck and Trailer, and the Riverside Inn. During his retirement he never stopped looking for his next great business opportunity. In between, he enjoyed working for BMC, Bayview Trucks, and later in life in the oilfields with Everready and Clean Harbors. In recent years Ian savoured the little things in life. He liked nothing more than reading the Telegraph Journal, taking afternoon naps, enjoying good food, and it was a rare evening he didn't have a movie lined up to watch. He had a unique and quirky sense of humor that kept his family entertained! In addition to his wife Glenda, Ian is survived by his children: Donnie (Tammy), Dave (Nikki) and Chantal MacLean; siblings: Oren (Jessie), Edna (Bob) Revels and Laura Greely; and grandchildren: Chase, Alex, Amy, Amanda, Dawson and Mya. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Margaret MacLean. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visitation on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Erbs Cove Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Ian may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation.
