Obituary of Mary Christine Price

With great sadness our family announces the death of our beautiful sister, Mary Christine "Chris" Price on October 27, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a year battle with cancer. Chris was born on January 10, 1948, the daughter of the late Loyal and Mary Price. Christine graduated from Moncton High School in 1966, Mount Allison University in 1970 and Dalhousie University in 1971. After a short teaching career, she moved to Calgary, Alberta, where she worked for many years at Alberta Wheat Pool, followed by six years at ACAD. Upon her retirement she moved to Miramichi where her love of cats lead her to volunteer at the SPCA. In 2017 she settled in beautiful Gondola Point, a place she absolutely loved with her kitty "Tat". Chris had a lifelong passion for golf, curling, cooking, crosswords, music, dancing, a glass of red and any family get-together. She would always be the first in the door and the last to leave. She loved her family and friends with great passion and was so proud of her nephews and nieces, whom she adored. Chris is survived by brothers David (Linda) of Wheaton Settlement, Scott (Deborah) of Halifax, sisters Debie Price- Sinclair (Jim) of Irishtown and Maureen (Wayne) Moore of Quispamsis. Aunt Chris is survived by ten nieces and nephews: Natalie Price Preston (Jeff), Jeremy Price, Derrick Price, Kate Sinclair - Sowerby (Andrew), Nora Sinclair, Leslie McAdam (Luke), Stephanie Theriault (Chris), Timothy Moore (Daniela), Ian Sinclair, and Emily Price. Her six great nieces and nephews are Quinn, Cameryn, Vivian, Briana, René and Florencia. She is also survived by her uncle Hebert Day, sister in law Darlene Cain, former husband Alexander Lee and many cousins and friends both east and west. Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) and Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, NB, (506-852-3530) in keeping with Chris's wishes there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Fair Haven Funeral Home. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care, Miramichi SPCA or the charity of the donor's choice. We wish to thank Dr. Gray, Dr. Thompson, Dr. Wildish, Dr. Love, and Dr. O'Brien in Oncology. Extra Mural, extra special thank you to Vanessa, and Palliative Care. A very special thank you to her landlady Ann Smith.
