Bob passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 23, 2013, at the end of a good and full life, with his wife May and his children Shawn, Christine and Natalie at his side. He was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia in 1932 to Robert Edward Sweet and Mona Rosetta (Lake) Sweet. He was the third of five sons, with older brothers Arthur and Charles, and younger brothers George and David. Bob and May (Bosnick) were married in Hearst, ON in 1961 and lived in Cochrane, ON and Moncton NB before making their home in Rothesay where they have lived since 1968. He enjoyed travelling with May to visit his children and their families: Shawn, Danielle, Cameron and Brandon in North Carolina, Christine, Gord and Charlotte in British Columbia and Natalie, Rob, Abby and Maggie in Alberta. His professional career included early work with Maritime Tel & Tel, Iron Ore Company of Canada and the Northern Ontario Railway, and then 27 years with NBTel as a Systems Engineer. Beginning with his early days at Windsor Academy and continuing for six decades wherever he lived, Bob always excelled at team sports, including hockey, rugby and baseball.
