Obituary of Gary George Fougere

It is with great sadness that the family of Gary George Fougere Sr. announces his death, which occurred on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at his residence. Born in Saint John on April 16, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Madeline (Chute) Fougere. Gary was a member of the Iron Workers Local 842, and worked on various projects in the Saint John area. He was a proud supporter of the SPCA, and was a fixture at Rhoda’s Flea Market nearly every Sunday. In his spare time, Gary could be found walking his dogs, fishing, and just enjoying the company of his many friends, often around a good bon fire. Gary is survived by his children, Gary Fougere Jr. of St. Paul, Alberta, and Tabatha Fougere of Saint John; granddaughter, Joann Crilley; siblings Mary Lounton of the Kingston Peninsula, Lilly Fougere of St. Stephen, Donnie Fougere (Kathy) of Hampton, David Fougere (Elizabeth) of Windsor, ON, and Debbie Fougere of Georgetown, PEI; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Debouver) Fougere; his daughter, Dawn Finnamore; and his son, Matthew Fougere. Relatives and friends are invited to join Gary’s family in a celebration of his life, which will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
