Obituary of R. Dwight Hughes

Dwight Hughes of Quispamsis, husband of Pam (Vail) Hughes, passed away on December 2nd, 2013, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Moncton on April 11, 1944, he was the son of the late Walter Hughes and Joyce Dunham. Dwight worked for Baxter Foods, retiring in 2007 after forty-five years of service. Always on the go, Dwight enjoyed all things wood, gardening, hunting, fishing; a real outdoorsman. He was also a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. In addition to his wife of over thirty-three years, Dwight is survived by his sons Mark of Rothesay, Brad of the Kingston Peninsula, daughters Julie of Edmonton, Lori of the Kingston Peninsula, grandchildren Sean and Cara, several brothers and sisters-in-law, step-sisters Mary McCann (Stephen), Paddy Kyle (Raymond) and their families, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Dwight will also be sadly missed by many special friends and neighbours, too numerous to mention. In addition to his parents, Dwight was pre-deceased by his sister Darlene, and his step-mother, Doris Hughes. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In keeping with Dwight's wishes, no funeral services will be observed. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
