Obituary of Alta Muriel Scott

On June 20, 2019 Alta Muriel (Colpitts) Scott was finally reunited with her beloved husband Scotty. Alta was born on July 10,1935 in Parleeville, N.B. She was the daughter of Nellie Dole and Frank Colpitts.

Alta's passions were her family, baking, listening to country music (especially George Jones), collecting brooches and working with her friends in the cafeteria at Saint Joseph's Hospital. Whenever, Alta was asked "How are you?" her response was always "TERRIBLE THANK YOU!" Alta and Scotty loved their trip to Nashville and always looked forward to the yearly Fearon Family Reunion in Moncton.

Alta was a proud and loving grandmother to Tara Scott (Dave Hill) Rothesay N.B., Kala Hirtle Halifax N.S. and Kristian Hirtle Lantz N.S. Alta took great joy in interacting and imaginative play with her great grandchildren Rylund, Jacob, Shandi and Charisma. She was a very special Aunt Alta to Barbara, Linda, Brian, Frankie, Karen, Adam, Sean and Jamie.

Alta is survived by her daughter Wanda Hirtle (Scott) Lantz N.S., son Andy Stuart (Joy) Oromocto N.B. and brother Sam Colpitts (Fran) French Village N.B.

Alta was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Frank (aka Scotty) Scott, daughter Pamela Scott, brothers; Donald, John, and Bill Colpitts, sisters; Ann Williams, Marie Mather and Joan Colpitts, nephew Jamie Colpitts and her special feline companion Soda.

There will be a gathering to share memories of Alta's life at the Kennebecasis Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 10AM-12PM.  Private family burial at Riverbank Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Arthritis or Alzheimer's Society.

A special thank you to the wonderful nursing staff at the Palliative Care unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
