The death of Gregory Halpin of Quispamsis, occurred peacefully on Thursday, March 15th, 2012, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 12th, 1991, he was the son of Peter Halpin and Susan (McAllister) Halpin, both of Quispamsis. Greg graduated from KVHS in 2009 and looked forward to completing his studies at UNBSJ, in the Bachelor of Nursing program. He also loved his job at Dairy Queen, Quispamsis. Greg always looked forward to volunteering at the Teddy Bear Fair and Rally of Hope. Greg’s great passion in life was music. As a dedicated musician, he played both piano and guitar, dabbled with the drums and was a member of the band Feedback. Greg had great respect for all music genres. Greg enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed all the adventures that came with traveling. The trip to Greece and Turkey in 2009, was a highlight in his life, and the trips to Calgary and the motorcycle excursions with his dad, were some of his fondest memories. Greg adored his friends!!! The annual "8-8-8" parties were always special memories for him, and only those friends involved, can appreciate the significance of that statement. He was a fan of Pokémon (Vaporeon), Final Fantasy 7, Super Smash Bros, and WarCraft 3 games, when those activities were so important during that phase in his life. He participated in judo and curling, was an avid skier, and enjoyed biking and kayaking with his friends. Besides his parents, Peter and Susan, Greg is also survived by his sister, Andrea Halpin of Saint John; maternal grandparents, Elmer and Joan Scribner of Quispamsis; paternal grandparents, Joe and Joan Haggerty of Saint John; several aunts and uncles; many cousins; very special friend, Monica Guitarr of Fredericton and numerous dear friends.
