Obituary of Maurice John Gordon

Surrounded by his family, the death of Maurice Gordon occurred peacefully on June 19, 2012. He was born on May 10, 1940 in Saint John, to the late Paul H. Gordon and Olive R. (McGinley). Moe served 9 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, during which time he completed peacekeeping missions in Cyprus. He worked as a boiler engineer for several years (D.V.A., Centracare and St. Joseph's Hospital) and was actively involved in various volunteer activities within the Quispamsis community, including Legion Branch 58 and St. Mark's Parish. Moe was a dedicated family man who always placed his family first. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and everyone whose lives he has touched over the years. Moe is survived by his wife Andrea (Robichaud); sons, Mark (Lori Morris) of Greenwood, NS and Kris of Quispamsis; sisters, Leona (Martin) of Quispamsis and Pauline (Long) of Saint John; beloved grandchildren Kyle and Laine Gordon; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Scott Gordon and his brothers Douglas, Lloyd and Philip Gordon. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 3:30-5:30 and 7:00-9:00 PM. A Legion Tribute will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM and will be followed by Vigil Prayers at 8:00 PM, all at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Rothesay. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the interment.
