Obituary of Francis James Edward Lockley

The death of Francis "Jim" James Edward Lockley of Quispamsis, NB, husband of the late Gabrielle (LaLonde) Lockley, occurred on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Oswestry, England on February 5, 1931, he was a son of the late John and Sara (Laycock) Lockley. Jim was a chief engineer for the British Merchant Navy serving during the Korean War. He was employed for several years at Marine Atlantic as a Marine Engineer until his retirement. Jim was a member of the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineers, the Engineering Council of the United Kingdom, and the British Institute of Marine Engineers. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #58. Jim enjoyed gardening, wooden puzzles, woodwork, and metal work. Jim is survived by his children; Sheldon McMillan of Finch, ON, Donald McMillan of Salt Springs, NB, Maxine McMillan of Glen Robertson, ON, and James McMillan of Winnipeg, MB, grandchildren, Donald McMillan, Anna Prioste, and Gwen Arnard, great grandchildren; Matthew, Alexi, Lily, and Molly, brother John Lockley of Oswestry, England, as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Friday from 4 to 8 PM. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute service will be held Friday evening at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with visiting beginning at 10 AM, at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home. Interment to take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
