Obituary of F. Brian Bawn

Surrounded by his loving family, Francis Brian Bawn of Quispamsis, husband to "the love of his life" Paula (Yorke) Bawn, passed away on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, on November 20, 1950, he was a son of Frank Bawn of Saint John, and the late Ruth (Burley) Bawn. Brian was a teacher for several years, retiring from M. Gerald Teed School in 2007 as Administrator. He was a past president of the NBTA, and enjoyed the negotiation process and advocating for the teachers of New Brunswick. Brian was an active volunteer at St. Augustine's Church, and "Fluffy Pancake Maker" at Hampton Middle School. He was an avid sports goer, enjoying University sports, golfing, fishing at the summer camp in Cambridge Narrows, hiking, travelling, and photography. Brian was a devoted husband, father and loved his family dearly. He was proud of his daughter Alicia for following in his career path as a teacher, and was Ashley's number one fan during her University basketball career. Besides his father and loving wife of thirty years, Brian is survived by his daughters, Ashley Bawn of Hopedale, Labrador, Alicia Bawn (Michael Burke) of Hampton, NB, brothers; Terry (Ann Marie) of French Village, and Wayne (Chrissy) of Maces Bay, sister-in-law Sharon Yorke of Saint John, nieces Marianne Duncan, Tammy Powell, Lindsay Bawn, Hilary Bawn, nephew Justin Bawn, and his dog Sarge. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (849-2119) with visiting on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 239 Quispamsis Road, Quispamsis, on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11AM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Augustine's Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
