Obituary of Gordon Douglas Geldart

The death of Gordon Douglas Geldart "The Bear" "Gilkie" of Rothesay, husband of the late Jean (Parlee) Geldart, occurred on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 1, 1945 in Petitcodiac, NB, he was a son of the late John and Ella (Keith) Geldart. Gordon was a truck driver for several years until his retirement. He enjoyed antique vehicles and had an interest in Native American Culture. Survived by his son Joseph Geldart of Ottawa, daughter Tina Henderson (Patrick) of Quispamsis, brothers; John Geldart (Mary) of Moncton, and Norval Yorston of Rothesay, sisters; Brenda Moore (Weldon) of Burton, sister in law Nora Bowes of Rothesay, grandchildren; Parker, Hudson, Rosaleigh, Hannah, and Cody, close friend Gilbert Sanipass (Jenny), his nephew and right hand man, Tom Bowes, special niece Judi Parlee, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Gordon was predeceased by his sisters-in-law, Terry Munn, Betty Goldschmidt, and Nancy Denby, and brother-in-law Frank Parlee. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from Kennebecasis Funeral Home at 10 AM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the SPCA Animal Rescue League.
