Obituary of Robert Andrew Ridgway

It is with great sorrow, the family of Robert “Bob” Ridgway, husband of the late Ruth Elizabeth Ridgway (Currey), announce his passing on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Shannex Embassy Hall, Quispamsis.

Born in Toronto, ON, on June 11, 1938, he was a son of the late Harry and Jean (Bowman) Ridgway. Bob was employed with Galbraith Construction as a Civil Engineer, retiring at the age of 74. He enjoyed prospecting, finding rare rocks and gold. Bob was a family man, enjoying spending time with his children, and loved every moment with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his children; John (Barb), and Kim MacVey, both of Quispamsis, his brother David Ridgway (Vicki) of St. Andrews, grandchildren; Christopher (Krystal), Kaitlynn (Brock), Jonathan (Samantha), Kyle, and Kelly (Dylan), great grandchildren; Aiden, Skylar, and Molly, niece Lara Cooper (Andrew), and nephew Sean (Giselle).

Besides his wife and parents, Bob was predeceased by his step-father Ernie Lucas, and step-brother Robert “Bob” Lucas.

As Bob was infamous for always saying “One more thing….” He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 153 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 3-8PM. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 2PM. For those unable to attend, a livestream will be available to view Bob’s Funeral Service by clicking on the provided link. Donations in memory of Bob can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
