Obituary of Carol Jean O’Neill

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Carol Jean O’Neill (Cobham), wife of Gerry O’Neill of Quispamsis, announce her passing on Saturday, September 2, 2023, just 4 days shy of her 60th wedding anniversary.

Born in London, England on October 14, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Jean (Burnett) Cobham. After immigrating to Canada at the age of six, Carol was raised in Halifax by her foster parents Pat and Frank Stewart. After meeting her loving husband, Carol began to look after many children, she was kindhearted, encouraging, a wonderful sense of humour and gave her family everything they could ever want, and most importantly love. She loved watching hockey and golf. Carol was an avid volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation through canvasing and fundraising. She volunteered at the local Library, Fairvale Elementary School, taught catechism at St. Mark’s Church, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, but most of all she loved watching her family grow.

Besides her husband, Carol is survived by her children; Greg  (Ronnie Sue) of Sudbury, ON, Micheal O’Neill of Kingston, NB, Lisa O’Neill of Halifax, NS, and Kathy Warrington of Quispamsis,  brother Andrew Cobham of Indonesia, sister Gaynor Stuart-Burnett of England, special grandson/son Jason O’Neill, grandchildren; Brianna O’Neill (Kyle McMullin), Brittaney Kearley-Boone (John Kearney), Laura O’Neill, Conner O’Neill, Jack O’Neill, and Ethan Warrington, great grandchildren; Novah, Octavia, Kayden, and Jensen, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel at 11AM. Interment to take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
