Obituary of Elizabeth Louise Hachey

Hachey, Betty L - 

It is with broken hearts, the family of Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Hachey, wife of Ivan Hachey of Quispamsis, announce her passing on September 6^th, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Born on March 28, 1939, in St. Stephen, NB. She was a daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Astorino) McCann. Betty attended school at Holy Trinity and St. Vincents High. After graduating she attended Teacher’s College in Fredericton. She then taught at Champlain Heights School for two years until she met the love of her life Ivan. Betty was an avid gardener. She loved her plants and shrubs. She was always willing to share her expertise. She always had plants where she lived, indoors or out. Betty and Ivan loved to travel- she often told stories about their trip to Copenhagen.

Besides her loving husband  of 64 years, she is survived by her sons; Christopher (Kim) of Saint John, Paul (Krista Shillington) of Rothesay, and Brian (Sandra Bitton) of Ontario, sister Sandra McCann of Quispamsis, grandchildren; Lindsay Hachey, Christopher Hachey (Angie), Danielle Olde Daminck (Dan), Geoffrey Hachey, Samantha Hachey (Jake Myshrall), Zachary Hachey (Alex Knockwood), Jordan Hachey, Taylor Hachey, and Brandon Hachey, great grandchildren; Alyssa Hachey, Kellen Hachey, Adalyn Olde Daminck, Nora Olde Daminck, Connor Hachey and Jacob Olde Daminck, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Betty will be missed by all who knew her.

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119), with visiting on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4 PM – 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 11 AM. Interment to take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery.
