Obituary of Wallace Somerville Turnbull

The family of Wallace S. Turnbull announce his peaceful passing with family at his side at Embassy Hall, Quispamsis, November 8, 2023. Wallace was the oldest son of the late Donald and Isabelle (Somerville) Turnbull.

Wallace was a lawyer for 25 years in the city of Saint John. He practiced with Clark, Drummie and Associates prior to serving as a judge for 20 years on the New Brunswick Court of Appeal.

Wallace was very active in contributing to his community and his varied interests. He was the Chairman of the board of the Turnbull Home in Saint John for 55 years. He served on the Board of Governors at RNS school and was a Director for Ports Canada. He was also very active with Progressive Conservative Party, New Brunswick Labor Relations Board, and various causes for those having intellectual disabilities. He was an avid angler and enjoyed golf and skiing.

Wallace is survived by his wife Charlotte, daughter Debbie, and sons Donald and Stephen, brother Tom and sister Ella and granddaughters Grace, Paige, Adrienne, and Trinity and grandsons Graham, William, and Jack.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, E2E 3S6 (506-849-2119). Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, from 6:00pm-8:00pm and Friday, November 17, from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home. A funeral service will  be held at the Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home on Saturday, November 18, at 11:30am with Reverend Stuart Allen officiating. A reception will follow at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Reception Area. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Fernhill Cemetery in Saint John.
