Obituary of Ian Chalmers Innes

Ian Chalmers Innes peacefully passed away to eternal life on April 20, 2018 in Marietta, GA. Ian was born in Toronto, ON November 30, 1921 to John Innes and Maggie "Peggy" Ritchie Innes. Ian was raised in London, ON, golfing at the Thames Valley Golf course where his father was the club Pro. He earned the title of Junior Golf Champion of Ontario two times, had 6 hole-in-one's during his golf career, and shot his age at age 84. Ian was stationed in England during WWII, where he proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a navigator on a Mosquito bomber. He returned home to marry the love of his life, Angela, in 1944, and graduated as a Civil Engineer from Queens University, Kingston ON, Class of 1947 1/2. Ian worked for many years in the Pulp and Paper industry in Canada, the United States and New Zealand. He enjoyed four special years working in Kawerau, New Zealand. Ian retired from Irving Pulp and Paper in Saint John NB. During his career, Ian traveled around the world twice and even danced with his wife at the Taj Mahal. Ian is predeceased by his wife Angela Theresa Lawless Innes, and his sister Margaret Pape. He is survived by his four children: Ian Donald Innes (Dorothy) of Waynesboro, GA, Allan James Innes (Mollene) of Melbourne, FL, Jennifer Innes Passarelli (Eugene) of New Bern, NC, and Erin Innes Franklin (Steven) of Marietta, GA. Ian has 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held May 12, 2018 in Marietta, GA. A private interment in Saint John NB is planned for the family at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (849-2119).
