Obituary of Crystal Lee Palmer

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Crystal Lee (Olsen) Palmer, wife of Paul Palmer, announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her loved ones at her side. Born on February 14, 1965 in Saint John, she is the daughter of Emil and Margot (Bean) Olsen. Crystal’s passion was to help others as evidenced by her work as a Public Health Nurse. For those who knew Crystal, they know how important education was to her. This motivated Crystal to further her education in nursing; she was a proud graduate from UNBSJ in 2005 with her Bachelor of Nursing. Crystal’s husband Paul was her life-long best friend, being high school sweethearts at KVHS and graduates of UNBSJ. They were proud of all of their accomplishments, personal and professional, and those of their children. They lived life to the fullest by travelling the world, enjoying music at various concerts, good food and wine, boating, and sharing endless other wonderful memories with family and friends. Crystal and Paul were most proud of their two daughters and the loving families they created. She absolutely adored her granddaughter Zoe, who brought her so much joy over this past year. Crystal also loved her grand fur-babies, and always had special treats waiting for them for each visit. Besides her best friend, Paul (husband of 31 years), she is survived by her daughters and their families: Courtney Palmer (Cory Marshall) and their daughter Zoe of Dartmouth, NS, Lindsay Lewis (Michael) and their fur babies Sven and Arlo of Fredericton. She is also survived by her siblings and their families: Melody Mayberry (Duncan) and their children Kayla and Alex of Quispamsis, Tim Olsen (Maureen) and their daughters Emily and Jane of Quispamsis, and Tiffany Bastin (Geoff) and their daughters Alia and Annika of Fredericton, as well as her paternal grandmother, Ellen Olsen, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Crystal was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Armand and Stella Bean, paternal grandfather Emil C. Olsen and Aunt Bonnie Olsen. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Doctor Brian Archer and the Interventional Radiology Department at the Saint John Regional Hospital. The family would also like to extend a thank-you to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and excellent care provided to Crystal. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM. Mass will take place at St. Mark's Catholic Church on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 10AM. Remembrances may be made to the Palliative Care Unit or to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation.
